Wells Fargo Steps Up to Partner with CSF For September 13th Concert in the Park

Wells Fargo’s Coronado Team presents Coronado Schools Foundation with a check for the September 13th Concert in the Park: Patty Cowan, Patrick Della, Spiro Chaconas, and Mavis Cain-Benton.

August 24th, 2009 - For the second year running, Wells Fargo has joined forces with the Coronado Schools Foundation (CSF) to underwrite the final Concert in the Park on Sunday, September 13th at 5 pm. By providing the financial support for this fun, family event, Wells Fargo continues its ongoing support of Coronado’s public schools.  Guests will enjoy the music of The Sophisticats; kids will have a chance to get their photos taken, and food will be for sale from local restaurants with proceeds benefitting our schools.

It’s a pleasure for Wells Fargo to team up with the Coronado Schools Foundation to provide this venue of music, fun and information in support of public education,” said Patrick Della, Coronado Island Office Store Manager.  “Since I joined this branch in June, I have so enjoyed meeting community members and the last concert of the summer series will be a great way to connect with our local school parents, students and teachers.  Wells has programs to help parents raise fiscally responsible children and we’ll have information at our tent about these programs including our Teen Checking Account and our Junior Agent Saver Club, geared to elementary age school children.

Wells Fargo is giving time and treasures to our public schools with Private Banker Mavis Cain-Benton serving for a 3rd year on our Board of Directors,” commented Spiro Chaconas, CSF Board President.  “It’s a great way to kick off the school year and learn ways to get involved as out Parent Teacher organizations will be at the event, too, added Chaconas.

Kids can have their photos taken as their parents learn more about our great Opportunity Drawing for the November 7th Dinner Auction and we’ll have tickets on sale ($25/1, $100/5 and $250/15) at the event.  Back by popular demand, you can win either a 10-day stay for two (or a 7-day stay for four) at an all-inclusive resort on the Greek Island of Crete with $2,000 towards airfare or two great bicycles (or an $800 gift certificate) from Holland’s Bicycles.   Since the items are donated, all proceeds from these ticket sales will go directly to our schools,” added Jim Loiselle, CSF Board Member and Opportunity Drawing Chair.

Our business partners for our events and those who have signed up to advertise in our new Business Partners in Education program are key to the Foundation’s financial success in generating much needed funding for our schools,” noted Executive Director Patty Cowan. “With our 25th Dinner Auction Party, Celebrating Great Schools, Great Kids……..Party in Paradise: License to Chill just 9 weeks away, this ‘friend-raising”’ event provides a forum for parents and community members to realize the Foundation’s funding has become critical for our five schools as it supports academic programs as identified in site strategic plans as well as a Technology Resource Teachers at each campus.  The money we raise this year is critical to the continued success of our award winning schools.”
