CORONADO, September 5   -- When they say it “takes a village” to raise children today, Coronado First Bank certainly exemplifies that strategy by its ongoing support of Coronado’s public schools via the Coronado Schools Foundation (CSF).  By providing the financial underwriting for the last Concert in the Park of the season on Sunday, September 9th, Coronado First Bank is again partnering with CSF for this second annual “Welcome Back to School” concert, kicking off the Foundation’s 26th Program Year.  Local school parent teacher groups will be represented and it’s a great way for both parent and community members to find new ways to get involved in our public schools.

“We are committed at Coronado First Bank to support our community and its schools in many ways and this is one of the many events in which we are proud to be in involved, said Renee Hinton, Senior Vice President and Branch Manager.  “We value our partnership with Coronado First Bank and appreciate their underwriting this community “friendraiser” to bring awareness to our public schools,” commented Foundation President Jeffrey Kob.   “Our schools need volunteer as well as financial support and we hope parents and community members will use this as an opportunity to get involved,” he added.

“With our 23rd Annual Dinner Auction Gala on October 13th and the Bank partnering with CSF as well on invitation and printing underwriting, community members attending the concert can view the 2007 Hummer H3 Electric Golf Cart with the lucky winner drawn at the benefit event,” said Executive Director Patty Cowan.  “Tickets will be available for this Opportunity Drawing as well as the Holland’s Bike Annual drawing, this year for a 24-speed customized tandem bike for two,”  “Thanks to the generosity of five Coronado families who underwrote this $13,000 electric car and Holland’s Bikes, every ticket sold for both the Hummer H3 and the bike will directly benefit Coronado’s public school children,” she added.

Food Sales Benefit our Public Schools

Pizza, pulled pork slider plates and ice cream will be on sale from Village Pizzeria, Beach-n-Diner and Mootime Creamery, thanks to the ongoing support of David Spatafore whose restaurants support school events year round in Coronado.  “I’m happy to do this to support our schools and look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday,” he added.

Silent Auction Wine Donations Welcome

Through September 9th, WineStyles at 928 Orange Avenue  has agreed to  donate 10% of proceeds to the Coronado Schools Foundation of a bottle of wine purchased by a customer who mentions the Foundation. If the customer chooses to purchase a second bottle of wine, the customer will receive a 10% discount on their own wine purchase.  “I’m excited that WineStyles has partnered with CSF on this promotion and we encourage people to bring their wine donations with a $25 minimum value to the CSF tent at the Concert.  All donations will be used for our Silent Auction,” commented Dinner Auction Chair Wanda Aurich.  (Please note wine purchased at WineStyles cannot be combined with other discounts; second bottle purchase must be of equal or lesser value).
