Surf City All Stars will be rocking the stage as Coronado Schools Foundation board members and Park Life Real Estate’s Renee Wilson and Scott Grimes welcome friends, family and fans on Sunday, August 27th for Concert in the Park. “We are honored to be part of a community that has such great enthusiasm when it comes to supporting its schools”, states Renee Wilson. “CSF's organization of our community contributions is exemplary. We love the energy they inspire in all of us to give back to a community that already gives us so much. We are proud to be one of CSF's top sponsors.”
As the school year kicks off we are inviting parents and community members to join Hive 365 by making a donation in support of STEAM programs in Coronado’s public schools. With 2017-18 funding at $1900 less per student than San Diego Unified, donations from parents and community members are essential in funding exceptional programs that Coronado’s schools offer. Last year we launched Hive 365 to encourage families to give at least $1/day per child to provide learning opportunities, K-12, in technology, visual and performing arts including band, engineering, broadcasting, and science labs which otherwise would not be offered.
“Every donation counts,” said Patty Cowan, Chief Executive officer of CSF, “this year we are returning just over $800,000 to the four schools through the support of parents, businesses and community members, with a goal of returning 1 million by 2018-19. The impact of these donations is significant, ensuring our Coronado students have access to life-changing learning experiences that profoundly shape student’s passions and goals”.
